What Boys Are Made Of by S. Hunter Nisbet (review)
Simon "Saint" Flaherty is a big dyslexic sixteen-year-old who finds himself roped into a fighting club in a small town owned by a warlord in this post-Second Civil War American small town, where everyone claims to know everyone's business yet no one really knows all that's going on.
What happens next is one of the best stories I've read all year.
The settings and people in What Boys Are Made Of feel real, as if you're there in the story. The plot is flawless.
I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series - but honestly this book was so satisfying it almost doesn't need a sequel!
Got five stars from me - and I'm pretty picky about what I'll even read.
Unfortunately, it seems to be out of print. Hopefully, you can find a copy somewhere, because it's really good.
